Training on “Religious Tourism Capacity” Organized by ATR-TL on February 7, 2022

On February 7, 2022, the Timor-Leste Religious Tourism Association (ATR-TL), in collaboration with the Capacity Building Unit, organized a training session on “Religious Tourism Capacity” for 48 participants.
The participants in this training represented five different religious groups: 23 from the Catholic Church, 11 from Protestantism, 6 from Islam, 4 from Hinduism, and 4 from Confucianism.
The training was opened by ATR-TL President Father Angelo Salsinha, along with leaders from the five religious groups. Mr. Peter Simone from the USAID Tourism For All Project and representatives from the Civil Society Support Service under the Office of the Prime Minister of RDTL also participated.
In his opening remarks, Father Angelo Salsinha encouraged participants to take the opportunity to learn thoroughly so that they can effectively contribute to ATR-TL’s services and programs in the future.
During the mid-session, ATR-TL Executive Director Dr. Manuel Vong, PhD, welcomed all participants and encouraged them to engage actively in the learning process.
The training covered introductory topics on basic tourism, the tourism sector and its components, as well as tourism destination sites. The speaker for the training was Mr. Egidio Da Purificação Soares from the USAID Tourism For All Project.
The training took place at the UNIO Training Center, Diocese of Dili – Maloa, from Monday, February 7, to Saturday, February 12, 2022. This training received support from the USAID Tourism For All Project.
