Nukleu Foin Sae Katolika of Gleno Strengthens Faith and Community Through Tourism

Gleno, Timor-Leste — In the peaceful town of Gleno, a new wave of community spirit is rising through the efforts of Nukleu Foin Sae Katolika, a local group dedicated to faith-based tourism and social development.
Led by President Carol Tito Dos Santos Araujo, the group brings together 20 active members who share one vision — to serve visitors and strengthen their community through hospitality and devotion.
Their main activities focus on operating a restaurant and cafeteria, as well as organizing pilgrimages (peregrinasaun) that invite people to reflect and grow in faith while exploring Gleno’s natural and cultural beauty.
Starting with $1,000 in support, the group has grown its assets to $1,000, carefully managing resources to prepare a strong foundation for the future. Their workplace is ready, and members are eager to welcome guests with warmth and dedication.
President Carol Tito Dos Santos Araujo expressed gratitude for the teamwork and support that made this progress possible:
“Our mission is not only to serve tourists, but to serve God and our community through honest work and unity,” she said.
The Nukleu Foin Sae Katolika group continues to shine as an example of how faith, cooperation, and local initiative can move a community toward lasting growth and hope.
